Gazprom Neft Strengthens Cooperation with Russian Universities

The staff of Saratov State University has joined the 3rd Communication Session of Partner Universities of the Gazprom Neft R&D Centre in Tomsk, which is taking place from May 22 to 26. The SSU delegation is headed by Vice-Rector for Research and Digital Development Aleksei Koronovskii.

The session is attended by Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education Denis Sekerinskii, Head of the Department of the Office of the President of the Russian Federation for Scientific and Educational Policy Elena Ivannikova, Director of Technological Development of Gazprom Neft Aleksei Vashkevich, representatives of oil service companies, partner universities from St. Petersburg, Moscow, Tyumen, Tomsk, Novosibirsk, Tatarstan, Bashkiria, Saratov, and other regions.

Representatives of thirteen major Russian universities, in partnership with which the company was developing technologies for oil and gas industry, presented their development strategies and plans to create innovative products jointly with Gazprom Neft. In particular, the administration of Tomsk Region and Tomsk Polytechnic University together with the company would continue the project to create a technology for searching for hard-to-recover oil reserves in the sediments of the Pre-Jurassic complex and cooperation in geothermal energy.

Gazprom Neft's research partners include universities from St. Petersburg, Moscow, Tyumen, Tomsk, Novosibirsk, Tatarstan, Bashkiria, Saratov, and other regions. The areas of cooperation include the development of new heavy-duty composite materials, engineering solutions for the Arctic territories, modern methods of increasing oil recovery at mature fields, as well as other projects relevant to the industry.

Universities act as a multidisciplinary partner of the company and fulfil all types of business orders: from laboratory and engineering services to research projects and curriculums.

‘To find Russian innovative solutions, it is needed to use the intellectual potential of scientists of various spheres. Therefore, we involve not only industrial experts, but also our partners from other industries, representatives of academic science and startups in solving technological problems. We define skills that are important for our technological challenges for everyone, and then test the proposed solutions at our fields. Thus, we get technological products that are in demand by consumers, ready for production,’ Aleksei Vashkevich, Director of Technological Development at Gazprom Neft, said.

Saratov State University continues to form new tracks of educational and project activities in cooperation with PJSC Gazprom Neft. In October 2021, SSU entered the pool of universities of the Gazprom Neft ecosystem.
