This year, Saratov State University has provided several venues for the Victory Dictation international project. SSU students and employees, as well as residents of Saratov came to test their knowledge about the events of the Great Patriotic War.

The Victory Dictation project in 2023 has taken place for the fifth time. In addition, the event was timed to coincide with a historical event that has acquired a completely new meaning – the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Donetsk and Luhansk.

The anniversary Victory Dictation has been held on a large scale this year. The Museum of the Great Patriotic War on Poklonnaya Hill (Moscow) acted as the central venue for the historical dictation. A concert took place there, prepared by youth bands, as well as the Academic Song and Dance Ensemble of the National Guard Troops of the Russian Federation. The residents of the country were also welcomed by the executive secretary of the OUR VICTORY organising committee, the coordinator of the Historical Memory federal party project, a member of the Presidium of the General Council of the United Russia Party Alexander Khinstein and the co-chair of the OUR VICTORY organising committee, Chair of the Public Council of the Historical Memory federal party project, Chair of the Russian Historical Society Sergei Naryshkin.

The right to launch Victory Dictation project was given to the front-line soldier, a participant of the Great Patriotic War Evsei Rudinskii. ‘In a few days, we will celebrate the seventy-eighth anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War. I wish you all success in such a very important and significant event as the Victory Dictation,’ he addressed the participants.

The event was broadcast and could be watched all around the country. Students, teaching and other staff of SSU wrote dictation in Bldg. 8 (Room 420), Bldg. 9 (Room 401), Bldg. 10 (the SSU History Museum), Bldg. 12 (Room 701), the library of the College of Radioelectronics, Geology College, Balashov Institute, and on the venue of student brigades.

Organisational support for the patriotic project is provided by employees of the Office of Youth Policy, SSU, activists of the Council of Undergraduates and Postgraduates, and members of the Headquarters of Student Brigades.

Before the beginning, the participants listened to the detailed instruction, and they learned all the rules of the Victory Dictation.

You can find out the test results on the official website of the Victory Dictation here.

Those who scored the maximum points will be awarded diplomas, invited to the parade on May 9 on Red Square in Moscow. In addition, the participants with high results based on the results of face-to-face testing will receive additional points upon admission to the university.

The organisers of the project were United Russia, the Russian Historical Society, the Russian Military Historical Society helped by a large number of state and public organisations and law enforcement agencies: the Russian Ministry of Education, Rosobrnadzor, the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States Affairs, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation, the Volunteers of Victory Movement, the Russian Union of Veterans, the Ministry of Defence, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the National Guard of Russia, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and others.
