University and Presidential Grants Foundation Signed Cooperation Agreement

Saratov State University and Presidential Grants Foundation have signed an agreement between took place in SSU Bldg.10. The ceremony was attended by SSU Rector Aleksei Chumachenko and Executive Director of Presidential Grants Foundation Anton Dolgov.

The event began with welcoming speech by Head of the Office of Priority Projects and Programmes Maria Yerokhina. ‘It's no secret that the cooperation of Saratov State University with Presidential Grants Foundation actually began a long time ago. The first employees of the foundation in Saratov were a group of students and graduates of our university. As a result, over the six years of our joint work, fifty-two graduates have been employed by Presidential Grants Foundation. Therefore, it is one of the most reliable partners and employers for us,’ she said.

As part of the agreement, it is planned to conduct training and internships at the Saratov representative office of the foundation, the development and implementation by the university of training and advanced training programs for specialists taking into account the needs of the foundation, informing university graduates about the possibility of internships in the fund divisions with possible employment.

The signing ceremony was attended by Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Igor Malinskii, Vice-Rector for Secondary Vocational Education and Social Work Olga Nesterova, Head of Priority Projects and Programmes Elena Yelina, Director of the Institute of Physics Sergei Venig, Chair of the Department of General, Theoretical, and Computer Physics Valerii Anikin, Associate Professor of the Department of Open Systems Physics Asel Adilova, Dean of the Faculty of Economics Elena Ogurtsova, Director of the Institute of Philology and Journalism Lyudmila Borisova, Professor of the Department of Literary Studies and Journalism, the Institute of Philology and Journalism, Kirill Zakharov, who holds the position of the head of the representative office – contact centre of the foundation.

SSU Rector Aleksei Chumachenko also made a welcoming speech. He confirmed that Saratov State University was closely connected with Presidential Grants Foundation and also hoped that we would develop the future schemes of youth participation in grant competitions.

‘Indeed, for several years we have been doing a lot for the cooperation between Saratov State University and the foundation, but in the future, we want to do even more. We need to develop an interaction that will be beneficial to the university. We would like to SSU students to participate in grant competitions. This will be a good step to support our active and initiative youth,’ he said.

In his response, Executive Director of Presidential Grants Foundation, a graduate of the Faculty of Physics, SSU, Anton Dolgov thanked Aleksei Chumachenko for the outlined ideas of a possible partnership and spoke about the contribution of university graduates to the work of the foundation, its main directions, and features.

‘Presidential Grants Foundation supports active citizens who strive for self-fulfilment, want to find the solution to specific social issues or are in a creative search. Projects of state universities can also take part in the grant competition of the President of the Russian Federation, but only via subsidiaries or partner non-profit organisations, public associations, for example, students,’ Anton Dolgov explained.

At the end of his speech, he warmly spoke about his student years spent at SSU, as well as about the opportunities that studying at a classical university gave him.

After that, the parties signed an agreement, largely stating the already established relations of the SSU with one of the leading development institutions of the country.

Presidential Grants Foundation has been a single operator of state support for non-profit non-governmental organisations in the Russian Federation since April 3, 2017. One of the three offices of the foundation (representative office – contact centre) is located in Saratov. Over the past six years, more than fifty students and graduates of SSU have been employed in the Saratov and Moscow offices of the foundation.
