On February 22, a rally-concert entitled We Are Together was held at Theatre Square in Saratov in support of Russian President Vladimir Putin and participants in the special military operation.

The event was dedicated to the Russian army and the upcoming holiday – Defender of the Fatherland Day. Local bands sang patriotic songs and recited poems.

Governor Roman Busargin addressed the participants. ‘Today, those whose hearts are beating simultaneously have gathered in the square. This unity is the strength of our great and mighty country. Today, it is absolutely clear that we are not fighting against Ukraine, we are opposed by the entire NATO. But we will once again prove to these people that they have nothing to do on our land. Because Russia's strength is not in weapons, not in lead bullets, but in the hearts of the people who are there now or standing here on the square. They fight the same way. It is impossible to defeat our great, mighty Russia!’

The participants of the rally were students, professors, and employees of Saratov State University. The large university delegation was headed by Rector Aleksei Chumachenko and vice-rectors of SSU. The university members could be distinguished by flags with university symbols, which were in harmony with the Russian flags, which decorated both the square and the stage. The participants were united by a common festive mood, the desire to convey words of support to those who are now far away in the special operation zone. Neither the cold wind nor the February snow could break this mood. The speech of the mother of the Hero of Russia, Lieutenant Colonel Alexander Aksenov, who died during the special operation, moved to tears, and her words, ‘Our cause is right – victory will be ours!’ reminded everyone of another page in the history of Russia.

The festive event was organised by the regional executive committee of the People's Front for Russia All-Russian public movement. More than 10 thousand people came to support the President and the military persons.
