A special issue of the Saratov University newspaper has been published how SSU implemented the largest federal university support programme titled the Priority 2030. The 16 pages summarize the results of the first year of the university work on this programme.

On the cover of the issue is Deputy Director of the Mechanics and Physics Research Institute, SSU, Senior Researcher of the Magnetic Metamaterials Laboratory, Associate Professor of the Department of Open Systems Physics Alexander Sadovnikov, who was awarded the Young Scientist badge in September.

The issue opens with a big interview with Rector Aleksei Chumachenko. He commented about the development opportunities that the Priority 2030 programme had given Saratov University and noted the areas in which SSU confidently occupied leadership positions.

The material on scientific developments carried out within the three scientific strategic projects is published on 4-6 pages – The Technologies of Personalised Medicine, The ICT – Electronics, and The Chemistry and New Materials. You can read about the beginning of the work of the multifunctional X-ray diffractometer DRON-8T at SSU on page 14. We could purchase that platform due to the SSU equipment upgrade programme.

The digital transformation of Saratov University is described on page 7. The topic of digitalisation is also devoted to the text about the new project of digital departments, to which SSU joined from the first day: since September 1, more than 1,200 university students have been enrolled in these courses (8 bands). The modern formats of the university's work are also described in the material about the SSU Boiling Point Centre. This year, it has won a grant to establish another start-up – the Business Boiling Point.

On pages 10-11, a material about a unique pedagogical project of SSU was published, and The Concept for the Development of Pedagogical Education in Saratov Region was proposed as part of it. For decades, our university has been developing a unique experience of continuous training of teaching staff for the educational system of the region at SSU.
