On December 19, on the birthday of Saratov University, we held the grand opening of the student Honour Board. It was decorated with 128 photos of the best university students who showed themselves in studies, creativity, volunteering, sports, self-government, and media.

‘This board contains the names of student activists of our university who have achieved high results in studies, science, creativity, volunteering and other fields. This is an important event for every hero of today's ceremony and the entire university community,’ Vice-Rector for Youth Policy and Organisational Work Anton Golovchenko addressed the participants of the event.

SSU Rector Aleksei Chumachenko congratulated students on special personal achievements and an important date in the life of Saratov University – the 113th anniversary of its foundation. ‘Recently, we have been experiencing a lot of events that are difficult to keep track of. In this series, your successes never go unnoticed. Most recently, the Student of the Year competition was held, an internship at Sirius University, where students showed themselves worthily at the All-Russian level. Our artists, athletes, fighters of student teams do not cease to please with their achievements. It is important that you find a starting point and start moving forward in the right direction. I wish you to always maintain the dynamics of development. Your healthy ambitions are necessary to conquer new horizons and feel satisfied with the result.’

Vladislav Bykov, Chair of the Council of Undergraduates and Postgraduates, welcomed the participants of the ceremony. ‘Only 128 students are represented here. This is only a small part of the total number of those who have something to be proud of and who also deserve to be among the best on this Honour Board.’

‘It's unusual to see myself here, I didn't expect that my successes would be noted. This happened thanks to my work in the Sweet Milk magazine, where I create a visual of social networks. I am proud of my university and grateful for the opportunity to realize myself in creativity,’ Anna Yeryomenko, a 2nd-year student of the Institute of Philology and Journalism, shared her impressions.

Kirill Tsypenkov, a 4th-year student of Geology College, noted that this is not the first time he is among the best. Since the second year, he heads the student council and actively participates in the social and sports life of the college.

The Honour Board is located on the 3rd floor, SSU Bldg. X. The project is implemented annually by the Council of Undergraduates and Postgraduates with the support of the Office of Youth Policy.
