On December 19, a student reporting and election conference was held in the Assembly Hall, Bldg. X, where the results of the year were summed up, students and staff of Saratov University were awarded and we elected of the Chair of the SSU Council of Undergraduates and Postgraduates.

The event was timed to coincide with the 113th birthday of Saratov University. The holiday united the student councils of the faculties and the institutes, the activists, and the staff of the university.

The celebration began with the summing up of the 2022 Best Student Council contest. The prize-winners were awarded by SSU Rector Aleksei Chumachenko.

‘Meetings can often be boring, but today the SSU Council of Undergraduates and Postgraduates arranged a real holiday for us. That's what youth means! Indeed, today is a very big holiday – the birthday of Saratov University, and we are gathered here not only on this occasion, but also to sum up the results, to reward those who did everything possible to make our university flourish and become better,’ the rector said.

The award in the Best Student Council nomination was received by the Student Council of the Faculty of Economics (Chair – Ilya Loktev), in the For the Development of Scientific Potential nomination – by the Student Council of the Institute of Chemistry (Chair – Dinara Mukhomodyarova). The certificates of the III degree were awarded to the student councils of the Faculty of Psychology (Chair – Julia Barayeva) and the Faculty of Law (Chair – Irina Ivanova). The Student Council of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Language Teaching Methods was awarded a certificate of the II degree. The Student Council of the Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics became the best in 2022.

In the second part of the event, 14 SSU employees and teaching staff members responsible for academic affairs were awarded with letters of appreciation. Heads of volunteer directions, chair of student councils, and student activists received memorable gifts. For active work in covering the life of the university in the news feed of the site sgu.ru and on the official accounts of SSU in social networks the staff of the SSU Office of Media Communications were awarded with honourary certificates.

Vice-Rector for Youth Policy and Organisational Work Anton Golovchenko presented certificates to 25 activists, 10 more activists received diplomas from the hands of the head of the Office of Youth Policy Egor Sokolov.

On the same day, the results of the video contest, which was held on social networks of Saratov University together with the Council of Undergraduates and Postgraduates, were summed up. Valuable prizes were awarded by Head of the Office of Media Communications Julia Anikeyeva. According to the number of views and comments under the video on the Rutube channel of the university, the 3rd place was taken by the video of a student of the Institute of Philology and Journalism Alina Lapikura (the Fortune Teller from SSU video), the 2nd place was taken by the video of a student of Geology College Dmitrii Saraikin (the An Ordinary Day of an Unusual Student video). The first place was awarded to Dennis Perfilov, a student of the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technologies. His video – Advertising Campaign of Building 12 – has received the most views and comments. Among the best works that were not among the winners of the competition, a vote was held in the SSU group on the VKontakte social network, which determined the winner of the audience award. The prize went to a student of the Faculty of Psychology Angelina Dimakova, she presented a work entitled Like at Home... .

‘We were sent a large number of wonderful videos that were filmed by students. They reflect student life, all the beauty of Saratov University and its campus, as well as love for the university. And I am very glad that we have so many active and talented subscribers. Thanks to you, our channel on Rutube took the first place in the November media rating from the Ministry of Higher Education and Science of Russia,’ Julia Anikeyeva said.

For excellent work in the Sweet Milk magazine and the publication group in VKontakte, Julia Anikeyeva presented diplomas to 15 authors from different academic units of the university.

At the end of the solemn part, gratitude was announced on behalf of the Rector of the University, Aleksei Chumachenko, to all the activists of the #WEARETOGETHER Headquarters, which was joined by the Council of Undergraduates and Postgraduates. All of them provided household assistance, sent donations, and worked in the situational sector.

The conference continued with a report on the activities of the Council of Undergraduates and Postgraduates in 2022. The election of the Chair of the Council of Undergraduates and Postgraduates took place at the conference. One application was submitted for this position – from Vladislav Bykov. It was he who became the new chair of the Council.

The event ended with mutual congratulations in honour of the birthday of Saratov University.
