Rector Met with Members of Congress of Young Scientists and Interns at Sirius University
Today, in Room 511, Bldg. X, SSU Rector Aleksei Chumachenko met with participants of the Congress of Young Scientists, which was held at Sirius University, as well as with SSU employees who returned from a corporate internship at Sirius University. The event was attended by the directors of the institutes and the deans of faculties, the heads of the offices, and scientists.
At the beginning of the meeting, the rector stressed that such mass educational and scientific events make it possible to establish horizontal ties within the university. ‘The most important thing is that new teams appear, new players in teams. After field events, we usually see people who are ready to actively engage in various university tasks and projects.’
The event was moderated by Head of the Office of Priority Projects and Programmes Maria Yerokhina. She recalled that 12 employees, mostly young researchers under 35, represented the university this year at such a serious forum as the Congress of Young Scientists. This is the largest regional delegation.
Asel Adilova, Associate Professor of the Department of Open Systems Physics, spoke on behalf of young researchers. She thanked the management for the opportunity to participate in such an important scientific event. ‘The Congress of Young Scientists is a unique platform for interdisciplinary cooperation, where you can communicate with scientists not only from your scientific field. This is an opportunity to participate in discussions with foundations, large scientific organizations, to build research on the current agenda, to understand how to be competitive.’
Asel Adilova highlighted, in addition to the business program, meetings with interesting characters and the RNF school. The new test format of the congress – open lectures – was told by Maria Yerokhina and Professor of the Department of System Analysis and Automatic Control, SSU, Ilya Sysoyev, whose topics were selected competitively and included in the main program.
Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics Andrei Zakharov and Associate Professor of the Department of National History and Historiography Anton Luchnikov commented on the internship at Sirius University. Andrei Zakharov noted the useful topics of corporate training and the intensive project work of 21 participants of professional development. The internship allowed us to look at media promotion from different sides, to understand why a modern scientist should build his media image.
‘I had to work a lot, but it was interesting and fruitful. Concrete developments are already being implemented,’ he pointed out.
Anton Luchnikov noted that the result of his team's work was the project of media support for the admission campaign of Saratov University. The developed proposals can form the basis of the entrant section of the new SSU website.
The participants of the internship thanked the university management for an effective professional development program, which was successful both in terms of content and organization. It should be noted that this was made possible thanks to the Priority 2030 programme.
The event was in the nature of an open and frank dialogue, which should develop in the university environment. During the meeting, the rector repeatedly stressed that such discussions should be initiated at SSU, and any employee should have the opportunity to discuss topical issues with the management.
