Dear students, professors, and staff!

Please accept my most sincere congratulations on Knowledge Day and the beginning of a new academic year!

We are all very pleased to have an opportunity to meet at SSU Student Square – at a big celebration, which we have missed very much during the two years of the pandemic. We meet dear first-year students who are becoming part of our large university family! We are glad to see senior students, professors, staff again – everyone who is united by Knowledge Day.

September 1 is one of the most important dates in the university calendar. We always reverently look forward to this day. Holidays and vacations are ending, interesting work is beginning, new projects are to be launched. I hope that in summer everyone has managed to gain strength, impressions, and energy for the academic year. There are months of discoveries ahead, gaining new knowledge, the birth of ideas, and also performances, competitions, olympiads, and excursions.

A time of great opportunities is ahead! Our university helps everyone try their hand and find themselves in different fields: in research and education, creativity and volunteering, sports and media. The university is a centre of attraction where students not only get a profession, but also learn to make friends, work in a team, come up with and implement ambitious ideas. The different offices and departments working for the sake of students’ interests are looking forward to you, namely The Council of Undergraduates and Postgraduates, Student Club, Sports Club, the Office of Education, the Office of Organisational Work, the Office of Social Work, etc.

From the first year, the doors to scientific laboratories are open for students, where serious work is carried out daily, experiments are done, and results are achieved. Due to participation in the Priority 2030 federal programme, the university continues to increase its scientific potential. Our laboratories have unique equipment. It is gratifying that young researchers supervised by experienced professors play an active role in each scientific team. I really hope that you will soon be among our young researchers.
