Two years later, Saratov University is returning to the usual on-site holiday in honour of Knowledge Day. This year, the traditional ceremonial line-up will take place on September 1 at 10 a.m. at Student Square in front of Chernyshevsky Monument.

The official part of the ceremony will begin with rendering honours to the nation, Saratov Reion, and Saratov University. SSU Rector Aleksei Chumachenko will congratulate students on the beginning of a new academic year and will present the first-year students with a symbolic student ID and a record book.

The line-up will continue with a concert of arts groups of SSU Student Club. The heads of student organisations will speakl about their activities, hold games and flash mobs, and invite first-year students to join their friendly teams. They include Head of the Staff of Student Brigades Sergei Kulik, Acting Chair of the Council of Undergraduates and Postgraduates Vladislav Bykov, a Student Club activist Nikita Krivosheyev. A mini quiz will be conducted by Head of the Office of Patriotic Education and Preventive Work Julia Ilyashenko. At the end of the holiday, the freshmen will solemnly oath.

On the same day, the institutes, faculties, and colleges are to hold meetings with first-year students. The time and place can be found on the pages of the faculties or institutes of the official SSU website.
