On August 4, Saratov University was visited by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russia to China Andrei Denisov during his working visit to the region. The meeting was attended by the Deputy Chair of the regional Government – the Minister of Industry and Energy Andrei Arkhipov. Saratov University was represented by Rector Aleksei Chumachenko and the Vice-Rector for International Affairs Dmitrii Konakov.

Andrei Denisov and Andrei Arkhipov began their visit with a tour of the SSU History Museum, where the guests were told about the main stages of the university establishment, as well as the achievements and work of the university during the Great Patriotic War.

Andrei Denisov was looking forward for a further cooperation with the university. ‘I would like to visit you more than once. Your history of interaction with Leningrad University during the war is very important to me, as I have a lot to do with this city.’

During the further conversation, the rector spoke in detail about the cutting edge of the university, the vice-rector outlined the main international affairs, including the cooperation with Chinese universities. The participants of the meeting discussed the prospects for the development of the largest university in the region, its strategic projects, and modern developments.
