On August 2, there started the summer pedagogical networking titled The Young Teacher in the Modern Educational Environment at SSU. The Forum of Young Teachers is part of the University as a Centre for Continuing Education of Teachers Using Social Practices of the 21st century (The Teacher in the Educational Paradigm) strategic project, which is supervised by the Head of Priority Projects and Programmes Elena Yelina. The project is included into the Priority 2030 programme of state support and development of universities.

The participants of the networking were young teachers from Saratov and Engels, as well as from Saratov Region and Labytnanga. The SSU researchers and school teachers from Saratov and Moscow will become the summer school teachers.

The event was opened by the Head of Priority Projects and Programmes, Professor Elena Yelina. ‘We are glad that in the hot summer season you have come to Saratov University to participate in our summer school. A year ago, our university won a grant in the federal competition under the Priority 2030 programme. Nowadays, SSU is implementing five strategic projects, four of which are related to research and one is dedicated to school and teaching. We are interested in our work starting today and not ending for many years. Many of you are our graduates, and I hope that you already carry the ideas that you received during your studies at the university. We expect that such joint work will continue.’

The participants of the school were welcomed by SSU Rector Aleksei Chumachenko. ‘Today, we are expected to show the results of those strategic projects that are announced in the Priority 2030 programme, namely innovations, import substitution ideas. We have to base the product. And there were big doubts about that particular direction, which is part of our programme. But now we see that we have made a right decision, our project has received a response at the federal level. We are planning not only to have basic meetings with teachers and work with enrollees, we are planning to build a system of interaction with the secondary school so that this partnership will work at a new level. And we hope for your active participation in the implementation of this task,’ the rector addressed to the young teachers.

The Director of the Institute of Philology and Journalism Lyudmila Borisova congratulated the teachers on the opening of the forum. ‘We are glad to welcome you today in our building, in the Alexander Skaftymov auditorium. Surely, our communication will not be limited only to the summer school, and the people you will work with will become your colleagues and like-minded people.’

She drew the attention of the school participants to a number of master's degree programs in pedagogy implemented by Saratov University.

The Senior Lecturer of the Corporate Department of Russian Philology and Media Education Marina Kabanova commented on the importance of such meetings. ‘Interaction is implied in the very name of the school – “networking”. And our event is exactly such a site – for interaction, the exchange of experience, and collaboration. We had two tasks – to gather you at this site and help you find common ground. I am sure we will cope with this mission.’

The school will be devoted to the work of the new generation of teachers and the prospects for the development of the school in the 21st century. The audience will take part in master classes, lectures, a digital hackathon, an interactive workshop, coworking, a speech session, and a case study from leading teachers of pedagogical disciplines of SSU and invited experts. On the final day, the participants of the networking will meet with the Deputy Minister of Education of Saratov Region Irina Chinayeva.

Guided by the tutors, the participants will prepare group projects and make PechaKucha presentations on the If I Were a Principal topic. After graduating from the school, the teachers will receive certificates of advanced training of the Institute of Continuing Professional Education, SSU, and special prizes from the All-Russian Trade Union of Education Saratov Regional Organization.
