The Fourth Forum of the Association of Russian and Belarusian Universities is held at the Yanka Kupala State University of Grodno. The event started as part of the IX Forum of Russian and Belarusian Regions and brought together more than 80 representatives of universities of the two countries.

On June 29, the Rector of Saratov University Aleksei Chumachenko became the moderator of the first panel discussion titled The implementation of joint scientific and technical projects and programmes in order to ensure import substitution and strengthen technological security.

The main topics for discussion were the integration of the scientific potential of Russian and Belarusian universities, the implementation of joint scientific and technical projects and programmes, academic cooperation.

Today, Aleksei Chumachenko is invited to the meeting of section No. 5 titled The Integration of the Russian and Belarusian Higher Education System: Regional Aspect. It is organised by the Federation Council Committee on Science, Education, and Culture and the Permanent Commission of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus on Education, Science, Culture, and Social Development.

The second day of the forum began with a meeting of the heads of the upper chambers of parliaments with the heads of state authorities of the Belarusian and Russian regions. An important event will be the plenary session titled The role of interregional cooperation in deepening the integration of the Union State. There the reports will be delivered by the President of the Russian Union of Rectors, the Rector of Lomonosov Moscow State University, Academician Victor Sadovnichy and the Chair of the Republican Council of Rectors, the Rector of the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics Vadim Bogush.

It should be noted that Presidents Alexander Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin plan to join the participants of the meeting in Grodno online.

At the forum, its members signed up the Resolution of the Fourth Forum of the Association, intergovernmental and interregional cooperation agreements and other documents aimed at expanding bilateral cooperation.
