Due to the fact that Saratov University has been qualified, it will receive 20 state-funded places for the preparatory department and 25 state-funded places for foreign citizens.

The university was included into the list of federal state educational organisations, in the preparatory departments of which foreign citizens and stateless persons have the right to study in additional general courses that provide training for the development of professional educational courses in Russian.

The training is funded by the federal budget for the 2023/24 academic year for those enrollees who enter the university within the quota for foreign citizens and stateless persons in the Russian Federation, which was established by the Russian Government.

At the end of April, a meeting of the selection commission was held, which chose the university preparatory departments where education is state-funded for the 2023/24 academic year. According to the results, SSU was included into the final list.

The following categories of enrollees have the right to budget education at preparatory courses:

– orphans and parentless children;

– disabled children, disabled people of groups I and II, who are not contraindicated in higher education;

– citizens under the age of twenty who have only one parent – a disabled person of group I, provided that the average per capita income of the family is below the subsistence level;

– children of military personnel who died during the military service or died as a result of injuries or diseases received during the military service;

– contract servicemen whose service duration is at least three years as well as reserve servicemen who have completed military service by conscription and under a contract and enter universities on the recommendation of commanders;

– invalids of war, combatants, military veterans;

– military personnel who took part in hostilities in flash point areas.
