SSU will continue the implementation of the Centre for Research and Methodology Support of Young Teachers project, which started in 2021, when the university was given the status of a federal innovation venue (FIV).

The decision to extend the Saratov University such status in 2022 was made by the Coordinating Body for the Establishment and Functioning of Innovative Infrastructure of Higher Educational and Continuing Institutions. The decision was supported by the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education.

To remind, SSU became a federal innovation venue, according to the results of the All-Russian competitive selection. They supported the five-year Centre for Research and Methodology Support of Young Teachers project developed by a team of university experts led by Doctor of Philology, Professor, Head of Priority Projects and Programmes Elena Yelina.

Due to the centre concept the scientific principle in the pedagogical, methodological and subject practices of young school teachers will be strengthened, innovative educational technologies will be used more often, and problems associated with the digitalisation of modern education will be solved. SSU supports young teachers for three years after graduation.

The centre is about to unite both young teachers and students who study pedagogy. In this case, SSU master degree students and postgraduates, most of them already involved in the practice of teaching, connect them and serve as the strategic core in the schools where the corporate departments of the university successfully operate and there is cooperation in supervising the basic schools of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The centre will work until at least 2025, accompanying at least 150 teaching staff annually. The Centre involves teachers to participate in SSU research and methodological conferences, the Step into the Profession pedagogical skill competition (for SSU students and young teachers), the Pedagogical Education Week festival, seminars and webinars, and creative laboratories.

It should be noted the universities which implement innovative projects or programmes essential for ensuring the modernisation and development of the education system and take into account socio-economic aspects and priority areas of state policy in education can become a federal innovation venue.

At Saratov University, the activities of the FIV are closely connected with the implementation of the 5th strategic project titled the Teacher in the Educational Paradigm within the Priority 2030 programme.
