On December 14, the graduates of the Young Manager School solemnly received their diplomas. The project was initiated by the Governor. The video-conference call ceremony was held in the White Hall of the Government of Saratov Region, and it was attended by Governor Valerii Radayev, Vice-Governor Igor Pivovarov, ministers, and other officials. Also, the event took place at the sites of SSU, SSTU, and PIM – educational institutions that trained a new cohort of young specialists.

At the beginning of the meeting, Governor Valerii Radayev noted, ‘Regional authorities and municipalities need a constant influx of creative youth who not only know the current agenda but also see how they can apply their ideas and projects to it. The fact that the school foster openness for young people is its main value.’

According to him, the projects of young managers have demonstrated a high level of their professional and creative training. ‘They contain dynamics, modernity, a new look, a desire to make people's lives as comfortable as possible. And I mean not only social facilities and landscaped areas but also sports, leisure infrastructure, digital services in any industry,’ the Governor said.

Before the investiture ceremony, there were presented the three projects, one from each university, which received the highest marks of the expert commission. The profile ministers and their deputies also discussed the projects. The Governor's particular interest was aroused by the project of an innovative Internet platform for the agro-industrial complex presented by the School students trained at SSU. The other projects were also noted: the Development of Small Towns and Villages on a Tourism Basis project and the Your sport 64 project of a unified information system.

At the ceremony, SSU Rector Aleksei Chumachenko commented on the newest School projects. ‘At present, serious attention is paid to the issues of professional development. For example, this year at Saratov University the number of students of the Institute of Continuing Professional Education has more than doubled in comparison with the previous year. Obviously, in the future, more people will be interested in these courses. I am glad that we, dear colleagues, managed to anticipate this dynamics a few years ago, when the project of the Young Manager School was still in prospect. We were able to see another powerful trend of our time in the project – the desire to rejuvenate the staff of management bodies.’

At the end of the event the students were given the diplomas of professional retraining in state and municipal administration as well as the certificates of the participants of the Young Manager School project. The best graduates of the School also received letters of recommendation from the Government of Saratov Region to be included into the personnel reserves of regional executive authorities and local self-government bodies.

Summing up the results of this year, the regional governor thanked the participants of the Young Manager School for their ideas and asked them to “speed up” to achieve the set goals. The SSU rector, in turn, added that to do it novice specialists need to cast aside all fears and boldly take responsibility for decisions that will make life better for the entire region.

The YMS graduates, who were trained at Saratov University, received their awards from the hands of Director of the Institute of Continuing Professional Education, SSU, Yurii Golub. Congratulating the students, he noted, ‘Studying is always difficult but if you have a reliable team ready to lend their shoulder at any moment, you can overcome any challenge. We are glad that each of you has had such a team. This is what allowed you to create truly original and demanded projects.’
