On November 25, in the evening, the St. Petersburg TV channel hosted a solemn awarding ceremony of the winners of the 2021 TEFI-Region competition. The partner television project of Saratov University titled the Two-Day EthnoHoliday became the winner of the XX TEFI-Region All-Russian television competition in the Entertainment Show nomination.

The high award – an Orpheus bronze statuette by a sculptor Ernst Neizvestny – was received by an SSU graduate Maria Karmanova, one of the authors and creators of the media project. The journalist comments on the victory in the prestigious television competition as an opportunity for residents of the Saratov region to look at their native land from a different angle. ‘The most important thing in this victory is a chance for the entire region to look at its potential and change its attitude towards it! Surely, we lack love, and not someone else's but our own love for the places where we live in. We are already gifted, we need to acknowledge this, promote it, and care together. There are already examples of projects in the region where the love and faith of the organisers work wonders. I hope this award adds into self-esteem of all Saratov residents from all over the region!’ Maria Karmanova said.

The Two-Day EthnoHoliday family-style project on domestic tourism has been implemented since 2020 by the Local Jewish National and Cultural Autonomy of Saratov public organisation with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund, the Ministry of Internal Policy and Public Relations of Saratov Region, and SSU is its key expert partner. The show is broadcast on YouTube and on the Saratov 24 channel.

TEFI is an award for the highest achievements in television arts, which is presented by the Academy of Russian Television. This year, jury included famous TV journalists: Vladimir Gomelskii, Mikhail Zelenskii, Makar Kozhukhov, Ernest Matskyavichyus, Kirill Nabutov, Anna Yankina, and others. Alsor, more than 400 projects were applied, 54 of them reached the finals, and only 18 of the best became winners of their nominations. You can watch the recording of the 2021 TEFI-Region competition award ceremony on the official website of the Saint Petersburg TV channel.

To remind, this week the Two-Day EthnoHoliday, the project of the SSU graduates, has won the 2021 Nation Pride Award.
