On November 24, the third lesson of the SSU virtual pedagogical form took place. More than 100 students from schools in Saratov and the region traditionally participated in the interactive conversation.

The project curator, Head of Priority Projects and Programmes Elena Yelina addressed to the listeners. ‘Each time, the pace of our classes will increase, and our homework will become more difficult.’

Specialist in educational and methodological work of the Centre for Supporting Talented Children, SSU, head teacher of the virtual form Olga Prozorova noted the well-coordinated work with high school students. ‘This is the third time we have met in our virtual pedagogical form. Through remote communication, we see, hear and, most importantly, understand each other. After all, understanding is the most important condition for a fruitful discussion.’

She said that the previous homework was completed by more than 100 people. The teachers were pleased that the answers listed not only the skills and competencies of a modern teacher but also the rationale for this or that criterion. Most of the responses were really meaningful.

‘In modern conditions, the process of self-development plays a huge role. We need to be in the resource, to catch “insight”, to pump ourselves up, to strive for something new. And in all this we depend on emotions and attitudes, which is what our lesson is devoted to,’ Olga Prozorova commented the lesson topic.

Associate Professor of the Department of Social Psychology of Education and Development Milena Klyonova discussed with the students the psychology of mood and states. Among the psychological states, the lecturer named: emotional experience, mood, emotions, and feelings. According to her, the mood is not substantive but personal. It is associated with an internal state and not with a specific object or situation. When studying the characteristics of mood, it is necessary to take into account a number of factors: assessment of reality, its interpretation, dominant emotions, and physical sensations.

Milena Klyonova also named the factors that shape the mood. These are organic well-being, general tone, individual psychological characteristics, and personal experience.

The participants discussed how to differentiate an event that evokes certain emotions, why apathy and emotional burnout can occur, what needs to be done to change your mood.

Associate Professor of the Department of Social Psychology of Education and Development Anna Golovanova spoke about the emotion impact on mood and behaviour. She said that emotions can be positive, negative, neutral, and ambivalent. According to the influence on human activity, they can be sthenic (prompting to action) and asthenic (relaxing and paralysing triggers).

The students analysed such types of emotional states as affect and euphoria and their influence on behaviour. During the lectures, the participants worked in a chat, where they answered questions, expressed their opinions and assessments.

The next virtual lesson will take place on December 8. We remind you that the meetings are held twice a month from October to May. Based on the results of the final testing, the project participants will receive certificates, and the best graduates will receive recommendations for targeted training in pedagogical courses.

It should be noted that the virtual pedagogical form is implemented within the Teachers in the educational paradigm section of the Priority-2030 programme.
