Saratov University is actively developing accounts on social networks and messengers. The university has its own groups and channels on Telegram, VKontakte, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, TikTok, and even Classmates. All of them help quickly find out about the most important events at the university, declare about the creative and scientific victories of students and staff, navigate in the search for their vocation, and sometimes distract from everyday affairs.

The social media content is presented in a variety of formats: notes, articles, interviews, videos, podcasts, and posts with photos. As a result, everyone can choose the most convenient and accessible way of obtaining information.

Not so long ago, Saratov University launched its own telegram channel. The messenger promptly publishes the most relevant information about its work, news about the research as well as announcements of competitions, festivals, and grants. Perhaps, at the moment, this is one of the fastest ways to obtain information. At the same time, the channel's content is not only SSU news but also messages from other sources. The subscribers also liked the Researcher Tells a Joke column. Every Friday, teaching staff members from different institutes and faculties share their favourite (and funny) stories on Telegram (join us!).

You can admire beautiful pictures, find out the news, share your opinion and emotions on the Saruniversity Instagram account. The subscribers are automatically invited to watch new posts in the main feed, stories, reels, and IGTV sections. It clearly presents the latest news and releases of various projects. The stories provide links to news from the SSU website and other useful resources, conduct polls and contests. We regularly post photos and videos of the university campus and classrooms on Instagram. You can always see familiar faces here.

The most detailed news, announcements of events and digests of university events are presented in the SSU VKontakte official group. It is the largest university community on social media. It has become a media platform where we post official messages for students, staff and enrollees, our students implement various projects, hold games, and vote, and communicate.

The group contains photo archives from university events of different years. These are the Student Spring and Mister and Miss SSU contests, and holidays in the Chardym sports and recreation camp, the celebration of Maslenitsa and Knowledge Day, etc. The photo archive can be found here.

Most recently, the group launched podcasts. They are prepared by 2nd-year students of the Institute of Philology and Journalism as a part of their seminars in fundamentals of journalism (radio). In podcasts, they discuss everything that worries modern students. You can already listen to episodes of such podcasts as Face to Face, Studbox, PROfessors, Girls, be quiet!, Your Choice, and Paper Satire. All of them are available in the Podcasts section of the group.

Saratov University also has its own Youtube channel. On the main page there is a hallmark – a three-minute documentary film about the university titled We Are Young – We Are Only 110. Opening the playlists, you can view the performances of researchers, videos from festivals, lectures, polls, videos from concerts, FWC performances, and book presentations.

The Saruniversity TikTok account has been created quite recently. The students have an opportunity to informally and creatively represent the university, faculty, institute or their group in short videos. Any SSU student or employee can participate in making content for TikTok. To do this, you need to subscribe to the channel and write in the comments to the last video, ‘I want to be an author’. The 2nd- and 3rd-year students majoring journalism and the participants of the SSU School of Journalism are already actively posting on TikTok.

And, of course, the university updates its pages on Facebook, Twitter, and Classmates every day. Most of their content is news-focused. However, here you can also find individual posts with photographs of “here and now” SSU buildings, congratulations on significant dates, and other information.

Subscribe to the SSU social networks to quickly find out the main news, communicate, and develop together! You can always find a list of social networks on the SSU website. Join us!

The social media editorial office encourages all active users to share their publications with us: mark @saruniversity accounts in posts and stories, remember our main official hashtags (# su #SaratovUniversity #saruniversity) and just send us your photos and videos! We will be happy to show them!
