The team of Saratov Region, which won the Grand Prix of the Russian Student Spring festival, returned to its hometown on May 20. The delegations were greeted by fans and heads of regional universities. The SSU artists were congratulated by Vice-Rector for Youth Policy and Educational Work Anton Golovchenko, Director of the Student Club Mark Pinkhasik, Art Director of the Club Mikhail Vinogradov, and university activists.

To remind you, the finalists who represented SSU as well as the other delegation members made a great contribution to the victory. Thus, five out of six participants of the university group became the festival prize winners. Except for this, four of them took part in the general concert of the Saratov team. The II degree diploma in the Scientific Slam nomination was brought to the team by a postgraduate of the Faculty of Biology Artur Airapetyan, the special prize in the same nomination was won by a student of the Institute of Physics Mikhail Makhortov. I degree diploma in the Formation nomination as part of the Dance Class group was received by a student of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Language Teaching Methods Victoria Kolesnikova. The bronze in the Street Dance category was awarded to a student of Geology College Ivan Yunev, who performed as part of the Grove masta group. The third place was also taken by a student of the Faculty of Philosophy Anton Gladyshev, who presented a creative performance in the Beatbox nomination. A student of the Faculty of Mathematics and Mechanics Vladislav Kovalenko competed for the prize in the Conversational Genre. Poetry nomination.

The Saratov University fans, who came to meet their heroes, handed them flowers, warmly congratulated them on their victory, and invited them to take memorable pictures.

‘Welcome home. We congratulate you from the bottom of our hearts and are very proud of your success. Already on May 21, we will meet again at the closing of the Student Club season, where your victories will be honoured, and now gain strength and rest after an intense struggle for the main award,’ Anton Golovchenko addressed the students.

One of the RSS participants, a student of the Faculty of Philosophy Anton Gladyshev shared his emotions about the last festival, ‘The impressions are extremely positive. I liked Nizhny Novgorod very much – it is green, clean and beautiful, with its own distinctive architecture. During the trip, there were some minor difficulties related to the organization of the festival, but everything worked out and this did not greatly affect the performances. In my room, I managed to embody everything that I conceived, but not as perfect as I imagined.’

He also added, ‘Before going on stage, I was not worried at all, but during the performance, due to the increased level of responsibility, a slight fear overtook me. I only remember how I got out and how I went back to the backstage. The performance itself seemed to be erased from memory. I think that the closing of this spring will remain the brightest memory of this year's student spring. It was truly great – perhaps even the best in the three years of my participation in this festival.’
