In the Year of Science and Technology, a new section title the Research City has appeared on the university website. One of its goals is to shed the light on the modern achievements of Saratov University scientists. There we publish the detailed materials on advanced developments, innovative research, new technologies, outstanding university figures, and significant professional events in science.

Today Russian science has acquired the status of one of the priority directions of the country's development. To support and develop it, a Science special national project was created for 2019-2024. As a result of its implementation, Russia should become one of the five largest scientific powers in the world. In order to make the necessary technological breakthrough and form stable support for science at the federal level, the Russian President Vladimir Putin signed the Decree to hold the Year of Science and Technology in Russia in 2021.

Five news articles have already been posted on the Research City page. They reveal and popularize the scientific activities of SSU researchers. The New smart materials for tissue engineering produced in Saratov article is dedicated to a new development – laser technology for creating nanomaterials intended for the manufacture of devices and implants for the cardiovascular system. The Invisible vessels on guard of brain health publication reveals the activities of the employees of the smart sleep laboratory, which operates at the university. Here you can also learn more about the unique development of Saratov scientists – a hat for new-born babies, which helps to restore brain microtraumas. Another article, namely the Saratov researchers offered their approach for health assessment of patients with COVID-19, demonstrates which methods would allow to quickly assess whether a person has caught a viral disease or not.
