Vyacheslav Volodin Invites to Visit Space Conquerors Park named after Yurii Gagarin

‘At the landing of the first cosmonaut of the planet – 16 km from Engels - Space Conquerors Park named after Yurii Gagarin has been opened. This is a great event for the residents of my Saratov Region.

The establishment of the park was supported by the President of our country Vladimir Putin. The project was implemented within the framework of a public-private partnership.

On Monday, April 12, we will celebrate 60 years from the flight of the first man into space. This is a special day not only in the history of our country, but also of the whole world. Yurii Gagarin became the first to conquer space.

Saratov Region occupied a significant place in his life. In Saratov he studied at the industrial college, at the local flying club for the first time he took a Yak-18 aircraft to the air, his Vostok-1 landed on Saratov land, near the Volga. By the way, a few days ago, reconstruction began in the flying club, and we plan to complete the work this fall.

The name of the first cosmonaut was immortalized not only in the names of the streets of the cities of Saratov Region, but also assigned to the new airport. It became the second largest air terminal complex in the modern history of Russia, which was built from scratch in summer 2019. Also Technical University and the People's Museum are named after Gagarin.

Due to the establishment of the Space Conquerors Park named after Yuri Gagarin we will be able to broaden the knowledge and preserve the memory of the history of space and the people who wrote it.

I invite you to visit the Space Conquerors Park in Saratov Region. I hope you will enjoy it.’
