Saratov University begins a new semester in full-time education, according to the order signed by SSU Rector Aleksei Chumachenko. All the studies will be conducted in the traditional form except for ‘the courses which can be taught online only or via distance learning technologies’. In addition, ‘employees over the age of 65 and employees with chronic diseases’ will also work remotely.

The university administration took into consideration the order of the Ministry of Higher Education and Science of the Russian Federation. As it maintained, the rectors of subordinate universities ‘to organise studies in the traditional form in case it is approved by the territorial bodies of the Federal Service for the Oversight of Consumer Protection and Welfare as well as the peculiarities of the spread of coronavirus infection in a particular region are regarded’. If the epidemiological situation worsens, according to the order of the Ministry of Higher Education and Science of the Russian Federation, ‘universities should be ready to resume restrictive measures related to the educational process’.
