SSU students and participants of the Inspiration dance club became the winners of the All-Russian Grant Contest for Youth Projects. The team of Saratov University included: a student of the Institute of Arts Lyubov Bannikova, a student of the Faculty of Pedagogical and Special Needs Education Vasilisa Silvestrova, and a student of the Faculty of Physics Olga Yulina. The competition was held by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs.

They won in the Creative Youth Initiatives nomination and came up with the idea to hold the first Festival-Contest of Inclusive Dance titled the Pro/Movement in Saratov Region.

“We are already implementing the project. Despite all the restrictions, we are preparing for the festival. The concerted items have been chosen, the jury have received the festival programme and are ready to evaluate the creativity of the groups off-site and give their comments," the authors noted.

The festival moderators closely cooperate with a state autonomous institution titled the Centre for Adaptation and Rehabilitation of Disabled People. There exists the only inclusive dance club in the Saratov Region for people with disabilities who use a wheelchair called the Inspiration. Also the contest winners work with the Wave 2015 Sports Club for Disabled People, in which the Inspiration members participate.

“We thought about the project in order to provide the members of the adaptation centre with the necessary equipment that will be used in concert performances as well as to promote inclusive dancing and to share experience. In this case, the festival will become a unique platform for people with disabilities where they will be able to learn something new and show their skills,” Lyubov Bannikova, one of the project authors, said.

The Inspiration dance club has won various city, region and international festivals and competitions many times. As a part of the project since October they have been actively promoting inclusive dancing and involving children, youth, and youth dance groups as well as volunteers from students of Russian education institutions to take part in it.

On the project web-site you can find information of participants and the jury. The results of the festival competition will also be announced there.
