SSU Graduate Veronica Romanova – Super Finalist of Teacher of Russia Contest

On 4 October the State Kremlin Palace hosted the concert devoted to Teachers Day and the awarding ceremony of the All-Russia 2019 Teacher of Russia Contest. One of the super finalists was a graduate from the SSU Faculty of Chemistry, a teacher of Saratov Lyceum №2 Veronica O. Romanova.

The ceremony was opened by Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Olga Yu. Vasilyeva. She read out loud welcoming messages of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Medvedev.

‘The finalists of the 30th anniversary All-Russian Teacher of Russia Contest are congratulated. Your success is based on your serious professional and personal achievements, and here your pedagogy talent and artistry is acknowledged. I point out it is highly demanded when you follow Russian education traditions, you are engaged in your work, and you use modern and effective technologies,’ was written in the message of the President.

As it was reminded in Dmitry Medvedev’s testimonial, teachers’ work is their ‘genuine calling’, and our future depends on that work.

Olga Vasilyeva and Chair of the Big Jury of the All-Russian 2019 Teacher of Russia Contest, Rector of Lomonosov Moscow State University Victor A. Sadvnnichy awarded the five super finalists with Small Crystal Pelicans, and one of them became Veronica Romanova from the Saratov Region. She had successfully participated in the first two contest stages and then took part in the final on-site stage titled the Teacher-Leader consisting of two tasks – the Public Lecture and the Dialogue with the Minister.

According to the results, the winner of the contest became Larisa G. Arachishvili, a teacher of the Russian language and literature from School №55 in Volgograd. She was awarded with the main prize, the Big Crystal Pelican.

In 2011 Small Crystal Pelican was won by another graduate from the Faculty of History of Saratov University Tatiyana V. Usova, a teacher of history in Lyceum №2.

The staff of Saratov State University congratulates Veronica Romanova on the highest professional achievement and wishes her to become successful at such a difficult and grateful profession!
