On 4 October there was held the event dedicated to the 120th anniversary of the College of Radioelectronics of Saratov State University. The hosts of the event addressed the audience at the beginning of the concert.

‘We are glad to see all of you here today. This year is special for us because we celebrate the 120th anniversary of the College of Radioelectronics.’

After that a chronographer appeared on stage and told the guests about the college history.

‘The college might have been founded a few years earlier. At first, that issue was discussed in 1892, then in 1895, and on 20 April 1898 the State Council approved to establish the technical vocational school, and on 1 July Emperor Nicholas II signed the document.’

Director of the college Oksana V. Breus pointed out once again that 2019 is the year of considerable anniversaries.

‘This year Saratov University celebrates its 110th anniversary and the College of Radioelectronics – its 120th anniversary. Lots of events are organised in our college, e.g. the preliminary competition of the Worldskills Russia Championship; our students participate in the regional Abilimpics Championship; new courses have been developed due to the Top-50 Profession Programme. However, the most important thing is that every day we come here and we are glad the college is 120 years old.’

Vice-rector for Secondary Professional Education and Social Work Olga Ye. Nesterova also welcomed the audience.

We have the courses which have been given for decades and new ones introduced three years ago. All of them take the top positions in the labour market lists, the college graduates are highly-demanded not only in the region but all over the country. 45 former students who graduated in 2019 entered the university.’
