IHIR Students and Professors Organised Quest to Celebrate SSU 110th Anniversary
On January 31 there was held a quest with professors dedicated to the 110th anniversary of Saratov University. It took place in the Institute of History and International Relations. The quest became the first event for the institute to celebrate the university anniversary.
Many students of the institute participated in the game “University: What Do We Know About It?”. The teams were headed by Professor of the Department of International Relations and Russian Foreign Policy V.G. Tsyplin, Associate Professor of the Department of International Relations and Russian Foreign Policy D.S. Alekseyev, and Associate Professor of the Department of National History and Historiography A.V. Luchnikov.
The game members attended 9 stations and asked both standard questions about the history of their country, hometown, and university and non-standard questions about well-known films. The quest hosts took into account the number of the right answers and the clear time of every team.
The game winners became the team led by A.V. Luchnikov (97 points). V.G. Tsyplin’s team became the second (87 points), and D.S. Alekseyev’s group – the third (84 points).
A.V. Luchnikov shared his opinion about the quest. The event has become traditional for the Institute of History and International Relations. Organised for the third time it was devoted to interesting facts of the SSU history this year.
‘The quest helps improve communication between professors and students because we turn from boring lecturers into like-minded people and help students in a thrilling game. As a result, the game brings generations of professors and students together. And it is important because we must have the common view on such a conservative science as history. I suppose we move in that direction due to the events like that,’ he commented.
