On October 4, Saratov University hosted the All-Russian Economic Dictation for the first time. It is an All-Russian annual educational initiative organized by the Free Economic Society of Russia together with leading universities. This year the topic became the following: “Strong Economy – Flourishing Russia!”.

The dictation goal is increase the level of economic literacy. More and more cities join the project. This year the event was held in more than 1,200 places from 83 territorial entities of the Russian Federation. Saratov University became its co-moderator for the first time.

Many SSU professor and students decided to take part in the dictation. Its tasks had been developed by leading researchers and experts from partnering and executing organizations.

Every participant received answer sheets with ID and the filling-in guidelines. The dictation lasted for one hour. Using their IDs the event members can find out the results on the official web-site of the project.

The dictation consisted of 20 closed questions, e.g. whether cryptocurrency is a legal means of payment in the Russian Federation or not, how devalorization of the national currency influences the internal pricing.

A 3rd-year student of the Faculty of Economics Anastasia Kulichinskaya participated in the economic dictation for the first time. From her point of view, the projects like that help develop and boost the knowledge.

‘The task difficulty varied: some of questions were easy to answer drawing on your experience, while a few others tasks could be solved only if you had special economic knowledge’.

The results will be announced on October 16. The dictation members who received more than 80 points will be invited to participate in the finals of the All-Russian project “The Economics Festival 2018”.
