The annual ceremony in honor of top bachelor graduates took place in the main hall of Saratov University. They were congratulated by the university administration, deans of faculties, directors of institutes, professors, groupmates, and their nearest and dearest. This year 457 SSU students graduated with flying colors.
At first, they were welcomed by SSU Rector, Professor A.N. Chumachenko.
‘According to the statistical data, annually approximately 2,000 bachelor students graduate from the university, and 25% of them are usually the top students. We are proud of all of you as you are successful people, and the university staff tries to correspond to you: we improve our education and research parameters as well as the infrastructure, and our graduates help us. I hope you will follow this tradition,’ said Alexey Nikolayevich.
Deputy of the State Duma O.Yu. Batalina sent a congratulatory address.
‘This day marks the beginning of new life, and you have waited for this moment. Every day you gained knowledge, acquired different skills, learnt something new, therefore, I wish you to use it successfully at work in order to bring value to people around you and your homeland as we expect you to achieve new goals for the benefit of the society in general and every citizen in particular. Director of the Institute of Philology and Journalism L.S. Borisova congratulated the audience on behalf of the SSU deans of faculties and the directors of institutes.
‘I am glad to congratulate you on such an event. I am sure other deans of faculties and directors of institutes will share my feelings. On the one hand, we are proud of you and believe that all your dreams will come true soon. On the other hand, we feel sad because we will part with some of you for a long time. We wish all of you to be happy and successful,’ marked Lyudmila Sergeyevna.
Top graduates showed high results not only in studies but research, sports, culture, and other university activities, therefore, they were given presents for their work.

‘Dear graduates, I congratulate you heartily that you have successfully passed all the tests. I think you are glad not to have any exams and seminars anymore, although you are a bit sad that you say ‘good-bye’ to us. You will have your ups and downs. Top culture graduates were awarded by Vice-Rector for Educational Work Ye.G. Yelina.
‘Today is your triumph, and you will remember it for a long time. Don’t forget to thank your parents, grandparents, school teachers, and university professors who have contributed to your success. We will wait for you to enter our master courses, which means that you will extend your student life for two years,’ advised Yelena Genrikhovna.
The top social work graduates were awarded by Vice-Rector for Secondary Professional Education and Social Work O.Ye. Nesterova.
‘I am extremely happy to congratulate you on one of the most significant moments in your life – graduation from university with ‘red diplomas’. Most of you participate in various events held by university. I wish you to maintain your standards and be proud that you are SSU graduates,’ highlighted Olga Yevgenyevna.
The best sportsmen were congratulated by Vice-Rector for Educational and Organizational Work I.G. Malisnkiy.
‘I am sure you reminisce about your entering the university 4 years ago, and today you graduate from it with flying colors. In total, there are about 3000 graduates with 60% of them being bachelor ones. Here are the best of them, who have diplomas of one of the leading universities in the country,’ underlined Igor Gerikovich.
