SSU and “Skolkovo” Fund signed the cooperation agreement

On January 28, 2015, SSU delegation including Rector A.N. Chumachenko, President L.Yu. Kossovich, and Director of the Joint Institute of Micro- and Nano-electronics A.V. Rossoshanski took part in the First All-Russia meeting “Innovations and new economic reality. Russian innovation policy and regional development”. The meeting took place at Skolkovo innovation centre first building – Hypercube. Saratov Region was represented by the Minister for Economic Development and Innovation Policy V.A. Pozharov.

Russian Deputy Ptime Minister A.V. Dvorkovich, “Skolkovo” Fund President V.F. Vekselberg, Minister of North Caucasus Affairs L.V. Kuznetsov, Head of the Federal Agency for Scientific Organizations M.M. Kotiukov, RF subjects representatives responsible for innovations and small business development, and leading experts took part in the meeting.

The part discussed issues of effective regional innovation infrastructure development, scientific research and innovations commercialization, fund-raising and industrial enterprises modernization in Russian Federation regions.

In his speech A.V. Dvorkovich said that innovations are very important for the development of national economy. “Skolkovo” is “the flagship of innovations”, said the Deputy PM.

V.F. Vekselberg shared his belief that, despite the difficult situation in the world, Russian science and Russian innovation would not get isolated: “Skolkovo continues its work with thirty international partners. This partnership involves financial commitment”.

At the meeting “Skolkovo” Fund and Saratov State University signed the cooperation agreement. SSU and “Skolkovo” Fund will carry out joint research in mcro- and nano-electronics, energy technologies development, medical technologies development including new non-fabric materials and non-invasive diagnostics instruments, etc.

According to SSU Rector A.N. Chumachenko, this agreement is a milestone event for Saratov University and the whole region. “Signing the agreement with “Skolkovo” proves SSU high scientific and research potential. This partnership will help bring our research to the next level and ensure its realization”, said the Rector.

SSU President L.Yu. Kossovich reminded that the University has been long working together with “Skolkovo” Fund. Our first successful project was “Distant learning system Ipsilon 3.0”. “Signing this agreement is very important for SSU. Now the University is among a few higher education institutions working with “Skolkovo”, said the President.

Today “Skolkovo” has five clusters for innovative projects – informational, biomedical, nuclear, spatial, and energy-efficient technology cluster. RF Prime Minister D.A. Medvedev is the head of “Skolkovo” Board of Trustees and Commission for Russian economy modernization and technological development.
