The competition was a part of All-Russia Forum on student government issues organized by the Ministry of Education and Science and Russian Union of Youth on November 15-18, 2006. Saratov State University was represented by Chair of Undergraduate and Graduate Student Council Victor Pletnev, vice-dean for education work of Faculty of Philology and Journalism Andrei Suvorov and Chair of Faculty of Biology Student Council Alena Koshel.

More than 220 universities and educational institutions took part in the competition and only 20 got to the finals.

The Forum gathered representatives of all major education centers; Moscow welcomed over 500 people. The program included conference workshops and seminars, an exhibition and cultural events. Atmosphere at the Forum promoted business partnership and friendly relations.

Saratov State University delegation made an interactive presentation about Undergraduate and Graduate Student Council achievements. The contest committee highly appreciated SSU student government organization, the Council’s infrastructure and legislative environment, and the presentation itself. SSU presentation distinguished itself among similar talks. Animated digital presentation with fine design and lively music helped to better characterize the Council’s achievements. The committee also noticed Saratov delegation work at the exhibition. Saratov University display showed “Student City” newspaper that was considered a unique example of printed media.

University victories at international and all-Russia competitions are the result of longstanding training and collective work of students and professors.
