16-18 октября в СГУ прошла работа школы-конференции «Нелинейные дни для молодых в Саратове – 2009», организованной факультетом нелинейных процессов СГУ при поддержке Саратовского отделения IEEE (Programme).

The book of collected papers “Modeling in Applied Electrodynamics and Electronics”, Issue 9 (Saratov University Press, Saratov, 84 pages, ISSN 1816-8221) has been published. The book contains 8 research papers devoted to various problems of electromagnetic theory, simulation of microwave technique (waveguides, resonators, etc.), and vacuum and solid-state electron devices. Editor: Prof. M.V. Davidovich (Chapter Vice-Chair).

On September 7–9, 2009 Fourth conference for young scientists “Nanoelectronics, Nanophotonics and Nonlinear Physics” was held in Saratov (NNNPh’09). The conference was hosted by Saratov Branch of the Institute of Radio Engineering and Electronics, Russian Academy of Science (IRE RAS). Conference program included 10 Plenary Lectures presented by invited speakers, 49 talks and 26 posters presented by young scientists and students. The presentations were divided in 5 sessions: “Micro and nanoelectronics, nanomaterials and nanostructures”, “Optics and nanophotonics”, “Acousto and magnetoelectronics”, “Nonlinear physics”. Over 100 participants attended the conference including guests from Moscow, Ulyanovsk, Ufa, Ekaterinburg. The book of abstracts was published and distributed at the conference. 2009 Chapter Workshop “Electromagnetics of Microwaves, Submillimeter and Optical Waves"
On September 24, 2009 Saratov/Penza IEEE Chapter hold its annual Workshop “Electromagnetics of Microwaves, Submillimeter and Optical Waves”. At the beginning of the Workshop, Chapter Chair Prof. N.M. Ryskin presented the 2008/09 Activity report which was approved by the IEEE members. The Workshop technical program included 7 talks, one poster and 2 Internet reports. 13 IEEE Members and 8 guests attended the workshop.

 IEEE approved Saratov/Penza Chapter restructure by joining to the Nuclear and Plasma Science Society (NPSS). Since October 3, 2008 we are Saratov/Penza AP/ED/MTT/CPMT/NPSS Joint Chapter.
Саратовское отделение IEEE до настоящего времени входило в четыре научно-технических общества: Antennas and Propagation Society (AP), Electron Devices Society (EDS), Microwave Theory and Technique (MTT) и Components, Packaging and Manufacturing Technology Society (CPMT). Руководство IEEE одобрило нашу заявку о присоединении к Nuclear and Plasma Science Society (NPSS). Это общество поддерживает разнообразную научную тематику, представляющую значительный интерес для членов Саратовского отделения IEEE, включая СВЧ электронику больших мощностей, ускорительную технику, физику плазмы. Оно издаёт такие известные журналы, как IEEE Transactions on Plasma Science, IEEE Transactions on Nuclear Science идр., организует крупные международные конференции International Conference on Plasma Science, Particle Accelerator Conference, Pulsed Power Conference, Nuclear Science Symposium and Medical Imaging Conference идр.
Более подробную информацию можно найти на сайте общества www.ieee-npss.org. Таким образом, с 3 октября 2008 г. мы являемся Saratov/Penza AP/ED/MTT/CPMT/NPSS Joint Chapter, причём единственным отделением NPSS в России.

On Friday, September 26, Saratov/Penza joint IEEE Chapter held Annual Workshop “Electromagnetics of Microwaves, Submillimeter and Optical Waves”. The workshop was organized as a part of the XII International School on Optics, Laser Physics and Biophysics “Saratov Fall Meeting” held by Saratov SPIE Chapter. Nearly 30 IEEE members and guests attended the Workshop, and 7 papers devoted to electromagnetic wave propagation in waveguides structures, vacuum and solid state microwave devices, etc
